Richard is a recognisable and trusted name in Australian entertainment, having curated a stellar career since launching MTV Australia in 1987. He is the Entertainment Editor at Channel Nine and broadcasts his #1 radio show on smoothfm. He is himself an institution in the Australian entertainment and media landscape with an unparalleled dedication to his craft, earning respect and admiration from colleagues and audiences alike.

From hosting Oscars red carpet coverage to the annual G’Day USA Gala, Richard is no stranger to MC’ing the most coveted and star-studded events.

Richard continues to interview the biggest and best names in the business... The Rolling Stones, Madonna, Beyonce, Fleetwood Mac, Bruce Springsteen, Rod Stewart, Ed Sheeran, Barbra Streisand, Coldplay, Paul McCartney, Harry Styles, Ringo Starr, Tom Cruise, Angelina Jolie...to name a few!

Richard has won two ACRAs (Australian Commercial Radio Awards) for Best Music Special – for his shows with John Farnham, and Michael Bublé. His memoir “Black Ties, Red Carpets, Green Rooms” was a #1 best-seller.

In addition, Richard was also awarded an Order of Australia in 2014 for his services to the entertainment industry and his charity work, most recently accepting the role of Patron for disability provider, Inala. Richard is a proud father of five...and a doting Granddaddy.
