She is a specialist in WHS Investigation facilitation and organisational safety. She helps businesses ensure people do their jobs to the best of their ability and in the safest possible way.
Nicchia found her next challenge at the Army Aviation Training Centre (AAvnTC) in her role as Safety Manager, Ground Activities. Whilst developing the Ground Safety Management System she continued to develop her safety skills, while discovering a growing passion for incident investigation.
Nicchia was seconded to the Tiger School to manage aviation safety. She remained at the AAvnTC compound when she took up a role as Boeing’s EHS Manager but after five years she took on the role of BP Bulwer Island Refinery’s Lead Incident Investigator. Her curious nature led her to a deeper understanding of the need for investigations to move beyond the person, and strive for real change within the culture of a workplace.
Her love of storytelling feeds in to a unique approach to culture through ‘safety industrial theatre and film’, and she has presented at a Queensland Roadshow for Workplace Health and Safety.
