Vanessa Beggs is an innovator and change maker with a hell of a lot of experience creating large scale change in blue chip organisations around Australia.
Currently, the Deputy CEO at the Australian Banking Association, Vanessa develops strategies to champion changes that improve the banking industry for all Australians.
Vanessa previously held the CEO role at YWCA leading the transformation of the organisation and has over 25 years’ experience in large corporations, government and not for profits.
During her long tenure with the Commonwealth Bank, Vanessa held executive roles leading complex change and cultural transformations, including adoption of new ways of working, developing an innovation strategy to encourage a culture of innovation that evolved into the introduction of core capabilities (Design Thinking, Experimentation, Agile, Data Analytics and Lean Productivity) and the introduction of innovation initiatives such as Wired for Wonder, Innovation Festivals, Unleashing Innovation Fund and the Innovation Lab.
Prior to joining the Commonwealth Bank Group, Vanessa spent nine years in roles developing retail distribution strategies and network development plans for several retailers.
Vanessa is a strong leader who uses a collaborative approach and gains satisfaction from motivating others to achieve outstanding results. She has expertise in strategy, change management, cultural transformation and organisational development.
With a constant thirst for learning, she has carved a unique career path through creating opportunities, taking measured risks and backing herself.
Vanessa is also a mother of three, an avid reader and participates in several boards and advisory panels to progress her passion for progressing gender equality and encouraging participation in STEM learning and careers.
