Tim Fung is Founder and CEO of Airtasker (ART:ASX), - Australia’s leading online marketplace for local services, connecting people and businesses who need work done with people who want to work. With a mission to empower people to realise the full value of their skills, Airtasker has proudly put more than $550m into the pockets of workers.
After a decade of growth including expansion into the UK and US, the platform that began as a website to hire students to assemble Ikea furniture has expanded to become a platform for anyone from freelancers to qualified sole traders to find new business within the growing gig economy.
He is responsible for strategy and business development. He is also a founder and director of Tank Stream Labs – a co-working space and entrepreneurial community located in the heart of Sydney CBD.
Prior to starting Airtasker, Tim was a founding team member and investor in mobile startup amaysim, playing a key role in strategy and one of Australia’s largest venture capital raisings in recent years. He is a founder and director of several web startups, including custom shirt designer Joe Button, and motorsport event group, Circuit Club.
Tim previously worked as a consulting talent agent and before this, and spent five years as an investment banking executive at Macquarie Bank.
Tim has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of New south Wales where he was a recipient of the 2016 UNSW Young Alumni award. He is also a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD).
