Kay McGrath is an award winning journalist and presenter with 40 years' experience in the media. She presented prime time news bulletins in Queensland for 32 years.
Working with the Seven Network Australia for the last 28 years, the popular 6 o’clock news presenter’s brand is trusted and strong. Kay will finish her Ch 7 career at the end of 2020.
During her career, Kay had been on the front line of numerous historic events including the death of former Qld Premier Sir Joh Bjelke-Petersen, the disastrous 2011 Brisbane floods, Cyclones Larry and Yasi ... and the verdict in the high profile Daniel Morcombe murder trial.
She has interviewed Prime Ministers, Governors-General, Premiers, politicians and personalities.
With a special brand of warmth and humour, Kay is a sought after Master of Ceremonies, facilitator and speaker who is able to think on her feet. She has addressed major audiences in Australia and facilitated numerous conferences. Kay also works with the Australian Institute of Company Directors in a facilitation role.
An authentic operator, she ‘walks the talk’ and is a long time committed child protection campaigner. Kay is Patron of the Daniel Morcombe Foundation, former patron of Protect all Children Today, an Ambassador for Act for Kids and Vice Patron of the Queensland Breast and Prostate Cancer Association.
