Jimmy Maher is a former QLD and Australian cricketer. He was described as an attractive left-handed batsman with a clumping cover-drive. Jimmy hails from Innisfail in Northern QLD and is committed to the development of regional cricket across QLD.

Undoubtedly one of Queensland’s Finest Players and had he been born in another era would have certainly played more cricket in the Green and Gold. An insatiable appetite for runs on the big stage with notably 5 x 100’s in Domestic One Day or Sheffield Shield Finals.

Well known as a great team man and very durable, playing full season after full season with very few fitness or injury issues in a career spanning over 15 years. A man for a crisis and could be relied upon year in year out to get the job done in all conditions - particularly on bouncy wickets such as Brisbane and the WACA.

A fearless opening batsman who was equally adept on both front and back foot and was a particularly good player of Fast bowling.

Jimmy is now an Ambassador for Bravehearts.
